Gordon’s the Cellar Door isn’t your everyday bottle shop. Here, you can purchase whichever drink you like and drink it in-house.
The laid-back atmosphere makes it the perfect place to properly catch up with mates, with no chance of being deafened by a large crowd.
Bradley Gordon’s first business venture has a strong leaning towards low-intervention wines from organic and biodynamically farmed vineyards in Australia and around the world. It stocks more than 400 varieties of wine and 350 kinds of beer. Corkage is $10 for wine and $2 for beer and cider, which still works out cheaper than buying the same kind of alcohol at a bar.
Gordon’s offers its own charcuterie boards, but has also adopted a “love thy neighbour” mentality. You can order food from surrounding eateries including Changz Canteen and Glovers Station, to accompany your drink.
The space is decked out with high tables and bar stools, with a few outdoor seats as well. The interior is lined with walls made up of timber shelves absolutely packed with liquor. Impulse purchasing has never been more dangerous.
